What is the best dog training device for my dog READ DETAILS!?
I have the most stubborn Golden Retriever. She, Zoe, Turns 1 years old tomorrow on Valentine’s day.
I’ve tried clicker training, obedience school…even the dog whistle had no effect on her when I thought the whistle was very powerful to a dog’s ear. So, other than those I’ve mentioned, what is the best training device to use now? Those shock collars? Invisibal fence? WHAT!?? lol. I mean, she is the kind of dog that KNOWS what is wrong but does it anyways behind our back and then hides! LMAO. Thanks.
Oh sorry about that…
She needs help with coming when called, not biting people and other things like trash, chasing and beating up my cat…you know, the usual puppy training.
You know what is funny? She can play dead…that was easy to teach her…but all the others are hard lol
i know north…that is why i am asking for help and not my dog

What are the basics of dog training? Rescue dog with training already? please read whole question?
I want to get a dog from the Humane Society and will opt towards an easily trainable dog and/or one who is already trained. If he is already trained, what will I personally have to do to so he responds to me? Also, what exactly are the things I would train him? Basically, if he listens to me and can understand the commands, he will be able to understand most of what I want him to do, right?

Have any of you read Cesar Millan’s book and is now obsessed with spreading his dog training techniques?
I read Cesar’s Way and Be the Pack Leader by Cesar Millan, and let me tell you, I have zero experience with training but his books taught me how to transform my insecure yappy pug into my dream dog- a stable, happy and calm pug.

the lady that lives downstairs from me gave me a book titled ‘Smarter than you Think’ and it tells you to throw things at your dog to teach it to come, and to stick a match in its butt to poop, and not trust dog food companies, and all this weird stuff, not too sure about that book.
any other suggestions? or tips?
